What is a safe payment method to accept on Ebay Motors?

I am selling a car on ebay motors and im not really sure how to ask for payment. If the buyer picks up the car in person then of course cash is accepted but if they want the car shipped what is a safe payment method to accept? Money Order? Personal Check? Cashiers Check?

Make them come and get it--it's the best way to prove they exist.

Scammers always ask you to "pay" their shipper (it's really them scamming you).

    Hi I'm CarlyRV on eBay
we bought a truck and camper and sold a truck on ebay

it was a few years ago, the economy wasn't so bad. We took an out of state personal check for the truck we sold, and also paid with a personal check - having asked what the seller wanted first of course.

Always ask for a PayPal deposit of $100 - $500 of course the deposit goes towards the price of the auto

Then accept a Cashiers or Certified Check for the balance

Have them hire and pay the shipper, you can help them find one, send them web links or phone numbers, but they should make the shipping arrangements so you aren't responsible for any trouble during delivery

For pick up in person - these day I'd ask for cash but if they insist on a check make sure it's a certified bank or cashiers check UNLESS they are local, then have them meet you at their bank for the rest of the transaction so you can cash their check in front of them before you leave.. for cash transactions have them meet you at YOUR bank so you can deposit it in front of them and the cashier will alert you of any counterfeit bills

oh I am in a skeptical mood today : )

    Good luck
