What do I do if ebay seller tells me to go the post office and pickup my package?

For some reason the ebay seller says that I have to go to my local post office and pick up my package. What should I do now? He also says the post office sometimes doesn't inform you of the arrival. Where do I pick it up in the post office? Your help would be appreciated. Thanks.

This is common. All you have to do is go to your local post office and ask if there are any packages in your name and then they will simply give you your package. If the post office tried to delivery your package and you were not at home (and there was no safe place to leave the package until you return) they will take the package back to the office where it is available at your convenience for pick up. Technically the post office is supposed to leave a pink slip in your mailbox that notifies you of a package, however alot of times they do not. If your post office is out of the way, you can also call them and reschedule delivery of the package to your address. Was there a tracking number given to you for the items purchased? If you have that number, you can go to www.usps.com and track the delivery and that would explain in details the information regarding why the package was taken back to the post office. Hope this helps!
